iCUE Spotlight: Oct. 19-25, 2018

OHIO Farmer's Market connects students with the local farmers and artist around our area. Vendors stop by each week to bring by fresh produce, art, food, sweets, and much more!

Dine-n-Discuss – LGBTness then and now

Discussion with previous coordinators, director, and supervisor of the LGBT Center in honor of our 20th rainbowversary at OHIO. Free lunch will be available.

Mexican Theater Performance of El Merolico

The Mexican theater company, Efe Tres Teatro, will come to campus on Oct. 19 to perform El merolico.

THEATER: Quackery Madness

Quacks, frauds, and con artists have been selling hope to the highest bidder since the beginning of commerce. This week’s show, produced by MFA playwright, John Hendel, explores this marketplace of lies and misdirection. "Madness" is a series of short plays written, cast and performed all in a single week.

George Washington Forum | North Korea: A Defector’s Perspective

The George Washington Forum at Ohio University presents North Korea: A Defector’s Perspective. The speaker, Jinhye Jo, is a North Korean refugee who founded NKinUSA, an organization that tries to rescue other North Korean refugees from China and Southeast Asia.

Love Yourself Week: Scale Smashing

FILM: "22 Chaser" with Director Rafal Sokolowski

In "22 Chaser," one of the city's last decent tow truck drivers risks everything on a desperate quest to become a chaser and provide for his struggling family, based on a screenplay by Jeremy Boxen (Imposters, Orphan Black, Killjoys), and stars Brian J. Smith (Sense8), Raoul Trujillo (Sicario), Tiio Horn (What Would Sal Do?), Aaron Ashmore (Killjoys) and John Kapelos (The Breakfast Club). This event is free and open to the public.

Two-Time Vice Presidential Candidate Jarvis Tyner Visits Campus

Two-time Vice Presidential Candidate and the founder of the Black Radical Congress Jarvis Tyner will visit Ohio University’s campus in order to speak on several different topics.

Love Yourself Week Keynote Speaker: Bev Gooden

Thursday, Oct. 25, 7 - 8:30 p.m., Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium, 33 University Terrace, Athens, OH 45701

"Why I Stayed" is a revolutionary speech by Beverly Gooden, renown social activist and creator of the #WhyIStayed hashtag and global movement. In this radical talk, Gooden challenges the question “Why did he/she stay?” and reveals how the current way we interact with survivors is a house of cards.
