iCUE Spotlight: Nov. 16-22, 2018

Take a look at the upcoming events on the official OHIO Calendar of University Events. Anyone with an active OHIO ID can log in and complete the form to add events that are sponsored by any OHIO planning unit or registered student organization.

Linguistics Colloquium: The Kakehashi Project

Hiromi Imamura, Chubu University, "Developing the Relationship between Ohio University and Chubu University: English Education and the KAKEHASHI Project." The Project is a fully-funded youth exchange program between the United States and Japan promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

 

Fall Senior Dance Concert 

Friday, Nov. 16, Saturday, Nov. 17; 7 and 9 p.m. each day, Shirley Wimmer Dance Theatre, Putnam Hall, Athens OH 45701

THEATER: Second Chance Madness

Friday, Nov. 16, 11 p.m., Hahne Theater, Kantner Hall, 19 College St., Athens, OH 45701

This week’s show, produced by M.F.A. Playwright, Liv Matthews, explores the significance of second chances and asks the question, who in our society gets a second chance? Who has the power to give second chances and how many second chances are enough? A weekly graduate playwriting performance series, "Madness" is a series of short plays written, cast and performed all in a single week.

 

OHIO International Piano Duet & Duo Competition

The concert will feature The Bax & Chung Piano Duo.

 

Elect Her: Campus Women Win

Sunday, Nov. 18, 12:30 - 4 p.m., Baker University Center 240/242

Elect Her is a training program that trains college women to run for student government on their college or university campuses. Research has shown that women who run for student body elections in college are more likely to run for office as adults.

Home Away From Home Afrikan/African Lunch

Monday, Nov. 19, 11:20 a.m. - 12:20 p.m., McCracken Hall 120, Athens OH 45701

The Restaurant, Hotel and Tourism program in partnership with OMSAR and CASA/GAL, is offering a Home Away From Home lunch, open to public, but especially for emancipated/foster students who can't go home for the holiday. Set up to be similar to a Thanksgiving Dinner but with Afrikan and African food.

 

Marching 110 @ Ohio Theatre

Monday, Nov. 19, 8 p.m., 39 E. State St., Columbus, OH 

The Marching 110 will perform its annual show at Columbus' famous Ohio Theatre.
