Nominations sought for 2019 Alumni Awards

Among Ohio University’s many points of pride is its more than 237,000 alumni—a growing network of Bobcats who are making a difference in their fields, their communities and throughout the world.

Each fall during Homecoming, the OHIO Alumni Association and Intercollegiate Athletics join forces to host the Alumni Awards Gala, honoring Bobcats who have distinguished themselves professionally and/or who have provided notable service and support to Ohio University. Nominations for the 2019 Alumni Awards are being accepted now through Feb. 1.

Anyone is welcome to submit a nomination and may nominate alumni for multiple awards. Online nomination forms are available here.

Nominations are being sought for the following awards:

  • Alumnus/Alumna of the Year, recognizing an OHIO graduate who has distinguished himself or herself professionally, in service and in support of Ohio University
  • Medal of Merit Award, honoring alumni who have achieved distinction in their fields
  • Distinguished Service Award, celebrating alumni who have supported Ohio University and the OHIO Alumni Association through alumni chapters, clubs, societies or other organizations
  • Charles J. and Claire O. Ping Recent Graduate Award, presented to alumni whose OHIO education has been a factor in outstanding accomplishments achieved within 15 years of having earned their first bachelor’s degree and who have demonstrated community leadership and been actively engaged with the University through exemplary service or support
  • Honorary Alumnus/Alumna Award, bestowed upon an individual who did not graduate from Ohio University but who has provided exemplary service and support to the University
  • The Kermit Blosser Ohio Athletics Hall of Fame, reserved for student-athletes, coaches or administrators who have brought recognition to Ohio University through their athletic accomplishments or who have made significant contributions to Ohio Athletics and the intercollegiate athletic industry
