Senior Week invites graduates to relish in their final days as OHIO students

The countdown is on to Fall Commencement, and it’s time for Ohio University’s December graduates to cherish their final days as students and prepare to become proud Bobcat alumni.

The OHIO Alumni Association and Student Alumni Board invite all December graduates to celebrate the culmination of their academic journey during Senior Week festivities, slated for Dec. 3-7. Throughout the week, members of the Class of 2018 are encouraged to stop by the Konneker Alumni Center from noon to 4 p.m. and participate in activities that serve as a walk down memory lane and a nod to their future roles in the Bobcat family.

Senior Week activities will include:

• An opportunity to give back to the OHIO community. Graduating seniors who bring a canned food item to the Konneker Alumni Center will be supporting the Baker University Center Food Pantry and will receive a complimentary OHIO alumni T-shirt.
• A chance to relive your days of dining on campus. Graduating seniors are invited to stop by the Konneker Alumni Center to claim a free meal pass that will allow them to dine one last time in an OHIO dining hall.
• Some time to experience the Athens campus in a whole new way. From noon to 4 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 7, members of the Student Alumni Board will be offering graduating seniors Behind the Bricks tours that will begin at the Konneker Alumni Center. In addition to learning about OHIO’s rich history, the tour “takes you to places you wish you would’ve gone but never got the chance,” said Brianna Agner, adviser of the Student Alumni Board.
• A chance to pass on some words of wisdom to current and future Bobcats. Graduating seniors who share advice on social media using the hashtag #OHIOUADVICE will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win prizes from The Bobcat Store.
• An opportunity to stay connected to your alma mater. Graduating seniors will have the chance to update their contact information at the Konneker Alumni Center.
