Take a look at the upcoming events on the official OHIO Calendar of University Events. Anyone with an active OHIO ID can log in and complete the form to add events that are sponsored by any OHIO planning unit or registered student organization.

So be sure to add your OHIO events, programs and deadlines to the CUE to help keep all members of our University community in the loop!

Here’s a look at a few upcoming events:

Active Shooter Training  
Friday, July 26, 9:30-11:00 a.m. Baker University Center 233, Athens OH 45701 

Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter & Evacuate (ALiCE). This training is designed to encourage and promote discussion about active shooter situations and will help participants learn how to be more prepared should an active shooter incident occur. Test your readiness, learn about options and gain confidence in your abilities to react by attending one of the following sessions. Email wyatt@ohio.edu to register.

ATHENA: $2 Summer Movie Series 
Saturday, July 27, 3-5 p.m. Athena Cinema, 20 South Court Street, Athens OH 45701 

7/27: Song of the Sea @ 3p.m.
8/2: MOVIE FOR BIG KIDS: Napoleon Dynamite @ 7:30 p.m.
8/10: Charlotte’s Web (1973) @ 3p.m.
8/17: Triplets of Belleville @ 3p.m. (part of Athens Community Music and Arts Festival)

A fundraiser for Southeast Ohio Youth Mentoring (formerly Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Athens), the price of admission to these screenings is a suggested minimum donation of $2 per ticket. For no additional charge, all ticket holders will be entered into a raffle with a featured prize being handed out at each event, including Splash Passes which offer 10 admissions to the Athens City Pool donated by Athens Community Arts, Parks & Recreation, and a pair of admission passes to COSI in Columbus! Plus, Athens Public Libraries will be handing out free books at the screenings.

Tickets will be available one week before each scheduled screening, which are one-time only events with a limited number of tickets available. Tickets may be purchased in the Athena Cinema lobby.

Laurelville Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Clinic 
Tuesday, July 30, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Young's Family Market 15986 OH-56 Laurelville, Ohio 43135

Breast and cervical cancer screenings, education and patient navigation will be provided by the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Community Health Program BESNP. Appointments are required. Interested persons should call 1-800-844-2654 or 740-593-2432 to schedule an appointment.

Meigs Co JFS Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Clinic
Wednesday, July 31, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Meigs County JFS 175 Race St, Middleport, OH 45760

WebCMS Basic Editor/Publisher Training

OHIO Information Technology is offering basic Web CMS training for new or existing users that have been migrated to Web CMS. Open to all OHIO faculty, staff, and students. Web CMS is a centrally managed web hosting that allows site owners and content contributors to edit and publish official, University-branded web pages without needing to know how to write website code. These training session will cover the basics of:

Content Types
Accessibility
Embedding Images
Uploading Documents
Navigation
