Cary Roberts Frith named chief of staff to Executive Vice President and Provost Djalali

Cary Roberts Frith has been named chief of staff for Ohio University’s Executive Vice President and Provost Chaden Djalali. This follows the promotion of Laura Myers, who served as chief of staff to the executive vice president and provost since July 2013.

“As interim dean of the Honors Tutorial College, Cary led the University’s critical expansion of its honors programming,” said Djalali. “I have been impressed by her work and am delighted that Cary has agreed to serve in this critical capacity on my team. I look forward to working with her as we develop strategies to advance the University’s mission and vision.”

Prior to her appointment as the executive vice president and Provost’s chief of staff, Frith most recently served as interim dean of the Honors Tutorial College from 2017-19 as the University underwent a national search for its next Honors Tutorial College dean. Before that, Frith served as the associate dean and chief administrative and financial officer for the Honors Tutorial College. She joined the Honors Tutorial College in 2012 from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism faculty where she served as a frequent HTC tutor and thesis advisor.

In her new role beginning Aug. 21 2019, Frith will serve as a senior advisor to Dr. Djalali, supporting the University’s strategic initiatives and implementing and communicating the provost's vision and strategies for transformative, student -focused educational experiences.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve Ohio University in this new role,” said Frith. “I care deeply about our commitment to access and excellence, and I welcome the challenges ahead as we advance the University’s pathways to excellence.”
