Classified Civil Service Modernization Update

This continues to be a time of unprecedented and historic change as we navigate a global health crisis and the financial impacts both nationally and at Ohio University, which have only compounded budget challenges that we faced before the pandemic. The proposed changes to classified civil service at Ohio University are in alignment with the Ohio Revised Code and Administrative Codes, and all decisions that have impact across the board will continue to be vetted and revised through our shared governance structure. Other public universities in Ohio — including The Ohio State University, Miami University and Wright State University — have approved and implemented similar policies.
