Division of Diversity and Inclusion develops Commit to Care + Act

Ohio University’s Division of Diversity and Inclusion has developed Commit to Care + Act, a central location for campus programming designed to provide education, resources, and support for faculty, staff, and students related to racial equity and social justice.

Commit to Care + Act 

Under the umbrella of Commit to Care + Act, Diversity and Inclusion will create spaces for all OHIO community members to:

• Process questions, challenges, and ideas related to equity and social justice.
• Reflect on individual efforts to educate and engage around issues of racism.
• Find opportunities and practice strategies to engage in productive dialogue about implicit bias, microaggressions, and other forms of exclusion and discrimination.
• Share resources to facilitate ongoing learning and action.
• Identify actionable steps for what institutional changes can look like.

Diversity and Inclusion encourages community members to provide constructive suggestions about what can help them feel supported at OHIO.

In addition, the Commit to Care + Act series aims to provide a continuous list of campus-wide and Athens community social justice-focused programming and activities. Recent events included discussions on mental health and implicit bias training. Upcoming events include:
