Ohio University encourages Bobcats to register and vote

As the November election approaches Ohio University encourages all students to check their voter registration, get registered if they need to, make a plan, and vote on Nov. 3.

The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 5. Ohio University’s Center for Campus and Community Engagement is working to help students access the information needed to make informed decisions and have their votes counted.

Register online, in person at any Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, at the local Board of Elections, or through the mail. Anyone who has moved in the last year will need to update their address, which can be done at their local Board of Elections or by visiting www.nonprofitvote.org.

Once registered, make a plan to vote. Vote by mail through an absentee ballot, in-person early, or in-person on Election Day. The rules and timelines differ from state to state, so stay informed and make a plan in advance of election day.

Get updates on civic engagement events, including virtual debate watches, by following the Center for Campus and Community Engagement @OHIOengagement.
