Conference and Event Services offers virtual event planning

Ohio University’s Conference and Event Services can help departments, organizations and community members continue to host events of all sizes in an engaging, virtual setting.

Conference and Event Services has been utilizing Microsoft Teams to host virtual events. Teams was chosen as the best service for delivery because many have grown familiar with its use as a collaboration tool, and it has served as a way for the entire community to continue to host their events that may have been otherwise canceled due to the pandemic.

Although many might be familiar with Teams from using it for classes and smaller meetings, it also offers opportunities to host and attend live events as well as collaboration tools, which are perfect for a virtual conference.

The goal of this service is to continue to provide engagement and opportunity while in-person events are unable to take place. Virtual conferences can include live events, pre-recorded sessions, breakout sessions, meetings and social hours.

Conference and Event Services has already supported a number of these events that have included programs and meetings such as professional association conferences, concerts with organizations, and career fairs.

Conference and Event Services coordinates each aspect of creating the virtual conference, inviting participants, producing live events and breakout sessions, offering ideas for social and wellness events throughout the conference and follow-up materials such as the recorded sessions and attendance tracking.

Conference and Event Services is excited to work with new customers and encourages those who are interested to reach out to the office. There are fees associated with hosting a virtual event that go to support the highly skilled, in-house production team Conference and Events Services offers to successfully produce a virtual conference.
