Free mediation course available to OHIO students and employees
Ohio University students, faculty and staff can participate for free in the course “Fundamentals of Mediation,” sponsored by the Athens Area Mediation Service.
The course runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Friday mornings Jan. 29 and Feb. 5, 12, 19, and 26. All sessions will be conducted via Zoom.
Mediation is a structured, informal, voluntary process in which a neutral third party facilitates a conversation between people who are experiencing some kind of conflict. The skills developed in this training can be applied both in a traditional mediation setting or can help with any situation in which individuals must navigate conflict.
Interested participants should plan to attend all five sessions.
OHIO students and employees can visit the Athens Area Mediation Service events page at http://www.athensmediation.com/events.html to register for the course. The page also contains information about how individuals not affiliated with Ohio University may participate.
