OHIO faculty and staff invited to attend academic planning and strategy open session

The following message was shared with Ohio University faculty and staff on Feb. 8, 2021:

In her Academic Update last week, Executive Vice President and Provost Elizabeth Sayrs invited all interested Ohio University faculty and staff to attend the Academic Planning and Strategy Group open session on Thursday, February 11, from 7 – 8:30 p.m

The Academic Planning and Strategy Group, which has been meeting since November 2020 and is comprised of 36 faculty and Deans’ Council representatives, is working to develop recommendations that will strengthen and refocus Ohio University’s academic core. Starting in January 2021, the group began to meet in subgroups on academic structures, academic policy and practice, and academic offerings. These subgroups are co-chaired by a faculty member along with a member of Deans’ Council and will provide recommendations by March 1, 2021.

Panelists for the February 11 open session include Executive Vice President and Provost Elizabeth Sayrs, Associate Professor Emmanuel Jean-Francois, Scripps College of Communication Dean Scott Titsworth, Kraft Family Scholar/Professor Zaki Kuruppalil, Vice President for Research and Creative Activity Joseph Shields, Fox Associate Professor of Marketing Katie Hartman, and Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer Brad Cohen.

“We look forward to your input as this important work progresses. There will be additional opportunities to review the work of the subgroups and their emerging recommendations throughout February and prior to the submission of their recommendations next month,” Executive Vice President and Provost Elizabeth Sayrs said.
