OHIO offers workshop, conference on working with students with disabilities

Ohio University is hosting two events this semester for faculty and staff to learn and share information about working with students with disabilities.

Both events are sponsored by Ohio University Southern and are open to employees across the institution.

The Student Accessibility Services Workshop will be held at noon on Thursday, Feb. 18.

Through this session, faculty and staff will learn about accessibility services for students, disability laws, our institutional responsibilities, and tips and resources for working with students with disabilities.

Participants also have an opportunity to meet the accessibility coordinators from each campus and engage in dialogue to gain insight into the experiences of students with disabilities at Ohio University.

Christina Perez, director of Student Accessibility Services, will facilitate the virtual event. Click here to join this session.

The fifth annual Envision Access Conference: Supporting Students with Disabilities in the Tri-State, will be held March 3-5.

Experts are needed to submit proposals sharing experiences and best practices with topics that address equal access and opportunity for individuals with disabilities in all aspects of secondary, post-secondary education and employment.

Faculty and staff who wish to increase awareness and understanding of trends in addressing the needs of students with disabilities are encouraged to submit proposals by visiting https://www.ohio.edu/southern/events-southern/eac
