Clarification on student vaccine clinics and second doses
The University’s Weekly Public Health Update mailed on April 21 announced that the final student COVID-19 vaccine clinic will be Friday, April 23, at Heritage Hall. To clarify, Friday is the final first dose clinic specifically for students.
Those students attending clinics at Heritage Hall receive information about when to return for their second dose at clinics hosted there regularly by the Athens City-County Health Department. The health department also regularly hosts first dose clinics at Heritage Hall that anyone in the community, including students, may attend (register via the state’s online portal; clinics are added weekly).
Any student who would like to attend Friday’s clinic at Heritage Hall to receive a first dose of the Pfizer vaccine may walk in between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., no appointment necessary. They will receive information about when to return to Heritage Hall for a second dose; they also are welcome to research availability of second doses in their home communities.
