Alden Library Opens all Floors to Faculty, Staff, and Students on June 22

Ohio University Libraries is happy to announce that due to popular demand and easing of the University’s COVID-19-related restrictions, all the floors of Alden Library, including the stacks, will re-open on Tuesday, June 22, to current students, faculty, and staff and emeriti. The external doors will remain OHIO ID card-swipe access only, as required for COVID-19 testing compliance. 

This is the first time Alden Library’s book stacks have been open to users since the pandemic forced closure during Spring Break 2020.

Over the next few days and weeks, staff will also transition from an on-call service model to providing assistance directly from the service desks on the 4^th and 2^nd floors.

Due to a renovation project, the Fine Arts Library on the 3^rd floor will remain closed until August.

The library is currently working diligently with custodial services on updated cleaning schedules and to get spaces clean and back in order. Visitors are asked to follow posted restroom signage, as some facilities may remain closed as custodians ramp up services.
