IT Governance approves second group of information security standards, Q&A session to be held

The Ohio University Office of Information Technology (OIT)’s Information Security Standing Committee approved a second group of University-wide information security standards in May.

The full announcement and details of the new standards can be found on OIT’s website.

All information security standards have an exception process, should an individual or unit have circumstances preventing them from complying with a standard.

One of the top priorities of the Information Security Standing Committee is the creation of information security standards that serve to guide the University community on how best to secure the technology that accesses, stores, processes or transmits University data. The campus community is encouraged to read the full information security standards

Additionally, the Information Security Office is inviting the University community to participate in an Information Security Standards Q&A Session on Monday, July 12, at 2 p.m. This will allow the campus community to ask questions about the second group of information security standards.

Interested participants can sign up for the session by completing the registration form in advance.
