Culinary Services offers student employment opportunities

Student employment opportunities are available through Ohio University Culinary Services. There are many locations and positions for OHIO and local high school students to choose from.

Culinary Services will schedule work around a student’s classes, and a student may work any amount of time from four hours up to 25 hours a week. Students also have an opportunity to advance to student leader positions and internships, earn pay increases based on longevity as well as develop leadership skills.

Students can choose to work at cafés and markets, such as The Front Room Coffee House, Café Biblio-Tech, ARC Café, Café at Factory Street, as well as Jefferson Marketplace, Boyd Market and Nelson Market. Positions available at these locations include stocker, inventory and cashier.

Students could also work at retail locations such as West 82, Latitude 39 and catering, with server, hostess, bartender, cashier, concept server, kitchen prep and stocker positions available.

Positions are also available at the Central Food Facility (CFF), where baked goods are prepared and shipped out to 13 venues across the Athens campus as well as some outside vendors. Consisting of a central kitchen, large-scale bakery, vegetable kitchen and warehouse, CFF offers a wide variety of job opportunities, including as veggie prep, bakery, retail, and the dish room.

Server, transporter and kitchen positions are also available at residential dining locations such as Nelson Dining on South Green and The District on West Green.
