Ohio University announces search for interim vice president for finance and administration

Ohio University has begun the search for its interim vice president for finance and administration.

A small, representative search committee is now in place with the hopes of naming the interim vice president for finance and administration by Aug. 20 for a one-year term.

Deb Shaffer, the current senior vice president for finance and administration, announced in June that she would transition out of her role effective Aug. 20. Shaffer will serve a one-year term as Special Consultant to the Ohio University President and then will retire.

Shaffer also serves as CFO and Treasurer of the Ohio University Foundation. The Foundation will launch a separate search to identify its next CFO.

The individual chosen for the one-year, interim position as senior vice president for finance and administration will be focused on helping the University toward its goal of financial sustainability.

A national search for the permanent vice president for finance and administration will begin during the fall semester.

The search committee for the interim vice president for finance and administration includes the following individuals:

  • Colleen Bendl, chief human resource officer
  • John Day, associate provost for academic budget and planning, associate dean of the College of Business, and professor of management information systems
  • Julie Allison, assistant vice president of finance
  • Tina Payne, chief finance and administrative officer
  • Scott Titsworth, dean of the Scripps College of Communication
  • Deborah Marinski, associate professor, College of Arts and Sciences, Southern Campus
  • Tim Epley, associate director of business operations, Event Services.
