Regional campus students: Get vaccinated for the chance to win one of 10 scholarships

With the surge in cases on Ohio University campuses, throughout Ohio, and across the nation, getting vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible can help make a difference in case rates and the stress on local hospital systems.

To encourage unvaccinated OHIO regional campus students to meet the COVID-19 vaccination requirement deadline, Regional Higher Education has created a new incentive program that will run from now until Nov. 15, 2021.

Currently-enrolled fall semester 2021 RHE students can win one of five $1,000 or five $500 scholarship awards applied to their fall semester account. To be eligible, they must have received a one-dose COVID-19 vaccine or both doses of a two-dose vaccine between Aug. 31, 2021, and Nov. 15, 2021.

“The vaccine incentive is to show our appreciation to our students for doing everything they can to contribute to a safe learning environment,” Nicole Pennington, executive dean for Regional Higher Education, said. “Student vaccination not only protects our campus, but also helps stop the spread of disease into the communities where our campuses are located.”
