Tips for the Job Search

1. START EARLY
Give yourself plenty of time to work through your materials and set up your online searches.

2. ASK FOR FEEDBACK
To make sure your materials are at their best, get a second set of eyes to look over them just in case you missed something.

3. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
To prepare for job interviews, use a career coach to work out the kinks in your interview skills.

4. USE YOUR NETWORK
Let everyone around you know you're looking for a job. You never know which connections will make the difference!

Holidays can be hard…
Unfortunately, the holidays can add both expected and unexpected stress while you're in college. Keeping the following items in mind may be helpful in navigating stressful family interactions over the break.

FIND SOCIAL SUPPORT
Normalize the idea that family may not be your safe place. Create a family that is not biological for support through stressful situations.

ENGAGE IN SELF-CARE
Whether it's through relaxing, exercising, or participating in your favorite hobbies, do what makes you happy.

TRY TOGETHERALL
Togetherall is an anonymous online community where members create a safe space to share how they are feeling and support each other. Support is available 24/7.

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

Coping with stress? Help is available.
The Psychology and Social Work Clinic at OHIO offers group or one-on-one sessions to help you navigate anxiety, stress, and loneliness.

CLOSING TIME

PUBLIC HEALTH

Get tested before and after breaks
Taking an asymptomatic COVID-19 test before and after Thanksgiving travel will give you the peace of mind that you’re not bringing risk to your friends and family. Schedule a test at CVS or Vault Health on the Athens Campus.

INDIGENOUS PEOPLE’S HISTORY MONTH

Sarah Liese walks around campus with the word "hózhó" tattooed on her forearm, as a reminder to see beauty in all living things. “Everything that is alive—whether it has a heartbeat or not—there is energy,” Liese said.
