Hearing, Speech and Language Clinic offering free hearing aid demonstrations, speech and hearing screenings this semester

Ohio University's Hearing, Speech and Language Clinic (HSLC) is offering multiple, free hearing aid demonstrations and a speech and hearing screening on the Athens Campus during spring semester.

About Hearing Aid Demonstrations

Community members are invited to listen to the latest technology and have questions about hearing aids answered by the HSLC and a hearing aid representative on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, Feb. 16 (1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Wednesday, Mar. 16 (1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Monday, Apr. 4 (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.)

All demonstrations are by appointment only and will take place in Grover Center W174.

HSLC’s free speech and hearing screening event is scheduled to take place Friday, Apr. 8 between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.- 3 p.m.). The screenings are available for OHIO faculty, staff, students and surrounding community members.

About Speech and Hearing Screenings

The HSLC will host free speech and hearing screening sessions on Friday, Apr. 8 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. in Grover Center W174 on Ohio University’s Athens Campus.

Hearing Screening Guidelines: Recommended for 18 years and older. Must be able to raise your hand when presented with a beep. Screening results are pass/fail.

Speech Screenings Guidelines: Must be 18 years and older. Must be able to read a passage and answer questions.
