Faculty Awards Reception and Ceremony scheduled for March 29

Ohio University will honor faculty members who have received awards for teaching, research, or other significant contributions during the Faculty Awards Reception and Ceremony on Tuesday, March 29.

The event, which will be held in the Baker University Center Ballroom, will begin with a reception at 6 p.m. The ceremony will follow at 6:30 p.m.

Open to the University community, the ceremony will recognize winners of a wide range of 2022 awards. It also will honor several faculty members who received awards in 2020 or 2021 but were unable to be recognized in person because of the pandemic.

The awards to be presented include the Presidential Research Scholars, Top 5 Newsmakers, Mid-American Conference (MAC) Outstanding Faculty Award for Student Success, Presidential Teacher Award, Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, and University Professor.

The inaugural winner of the Chairs and Directors Council Emerging Leader Award, China Billotte Verhoff, assistant professor of interpersonal communication, will also be recognized. The Emerging Leader Award recognizes an outstanding probationary, tenure-track faculty member who has demonstrated exceptional leadership attributes.

All members of the University community are encouraged to attend to celebrate faculty award recipients.
