Dusty Kilgour has announced plans to transition to a new role in Ohio University’s Division of University Advancement as Executive Director, Advancement Events. He will join the Advancement team on May 15, 2022.

Dusty has been an institutional leader for over a decade and a member of the Division of Student Affairs since 2009, serving as Ohio University’s Executive Director of Conference & Event Services and the Director of Baker University Center for 10 years. In this role, he has managed hundreds of employees and thousands of events. He has had a significant impact on University occasions from Commencement to Homecoming and has helped to make Baker University Center a vibrant hub for campus life.

“Dusty is an advocate for students and under his leadership Conference & Event Services has overseen and enhanced operations to thousands of programs and events across campus,” said Associate Vice President for Auxiliaries Gwyn Scott. “We are grateful for Dusty’s service and know he will continue to lead as a part of the University Advancement team. While he will be dearly missed in Student Affairs, we are glad that he is staying at OHIO and look forward to engaging with him in new and different ways.”

In his new role, Dusty will direct University Advancement’s comprehensive event management program — delivering signature alumni and donor experiences on OHIO’s campuses and beyond.

“It’s exciting to welcome someone with Dusty’s years of experience, event production expertise, and deep institutional knowledge into this important leadership role in Advancement,” said Associate Vice President of Advancement Services Joe Pauwels. “He’ll be leading and providing support and direction for an experienced Advancement Events team (Assistant Director, Advancement Events, Megan Bulow; Associate Director, Advancement Events, Barb Fiocchi; and Assistant Director, Advancement & Presidential Events, Erica Lipscomb). Together, they’ll collaborate with partners across campus to develop and deliver meaningful events that build community and enhance relationships with Ohio University’s alumni and friends.”

Dusty’s prior experience includes serving as the Director of Golf and Tennis at Ohio University and the Director of Baseball and Stadium Operations for the St. Louis Cardinals organization. A three-time Bobcat, Dusty earned his bachelor's in sport management in 2003 and his MBA and MSA in 2005 — all from the College of Business. His onsite office location will be Claire Ping Cottage.

Dusty’s last day with the Division of Student Affairs will be May 13. With this change in leadership, the Conference Services team will transition back to Housing and Residence Life under the leadership of Executive Director of Housing and Residence Life Jneanne Hacker. For the immediate future, the Event Services team will report to Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs Imants Jaunarajs.
