Call for student Leadership Awards nominations

The Leadership Awards program is an Ohio University tradition that has been in place for four decades. The Division of Student Affairs, in partnership with Diversity and Inclusion, aims to recognize an impressive group of Ohio University students and student organizations who demonstrate exceptional commitment to the OHIO community. In anticipation for the 40th year of leadership recognition, nominations are now being accepted.

Students and student organizations across all colleges and campuses can be nominated by anyone within or outside of the OHIO community until Dec. 11. The nomination process is simple and the form (opens in a new window) can be completed in mere seconds.

An ideal nominee would go above and beyond their work responsibilities, inspire others, advance the surrounding community and excel academically. Nominators should consider the students who they interact with regularly and are deserving of being recognized for their leadership.

There are several awards to be bestowed upon deserving students and they fall into the categories of diversity and allyship (opens in a new window), outstanding leadership (opens in a new window), service (opens in a new window), and student organizations (opens in a new window).

Students who want to apply for an award do not need to nominate themselves and can directly submit applications between Nov. 21 and Feb. 1. Selection committees will review redacted submissions and choose final awards recipients according to each award’s established criteria.

Visit the awards website (opens in a new window) to learn more about the Leadership Awards.
