Mark J. Heil named vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer at Ohio University
Ohio University President Hugh Sherman has announced that Mark J. Heil has been named as Ohio University’s vice president for finance and administration and chief financial officer.
Heil has served as interim vice president for finance and administration at OHIO since August 2022. Previously, he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Boise State University for the past five years. With more than 30 years of experience in the private sector, Heil has served in numerous roles, most recently as vice president and corporate controller at Micron Technology, Inc., and as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, all in Boise, Idaho.
“In just a few short months, Mark has made a tremendous impact during this time of significant change and opportunity at Ohio University,” President Sherman said. “As a proven builder of highly effective teams and programs, Mark is well positioned to implement a financial framework that will help us reach our institutional goals and while expertly serving our students and communities.”
Heil earned his bachelor of business administration in accounting and computer information systems from Boise State University. He is an active member of the advisory board for the Department of Accountancy in the College of Business and Economics at Boise State University, a licensed Certified Public Accountant, and a member of the Idaho State Board of Accountancy and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
