Bob’s Bobcat Bistro Celebrates Grand Opening

Bob's Bobcat Bistro recently celebrated their grand opening with familiar smells and samples in the dining space located on the 1st floor of Brasee Hall. The former Bobcat Bistro discontinued food service over 2 years ago and remained a student commons area throughout the pandemic. The initial goal was to revive a much needed and missed service to the Lancaster community and campus population.

"We are so proud to have a well-respected, local, and dedicated partner to provide food service to our students, faculty, staff, and community members," said OHIO Lancaster's Dean, Dr. Jarrod Tudor.

The owners Bob's Bobcat Bistro, Bob and Maggie Bennett, expanded operations to meet the needs of a growing population in the revitalized educational valley area of Lancaster's Fetters Run. The success of Bob's Backyard Barbeque, located at 157 W Main St., has allowed the Bennett’s to expand their reach to the OHIO Lancaster campus population and share their love for barbeque to a whole new audience.

“Having been lifelong Lancaster area residents, we have always been aware of the impact OHIO Lancaster has in the community. Over the years, we have visited the campus while attending 4-H events, concerts, and theatrical performances, and now our children are doing the same by taking classes and attending special events such as the Celebrate Women conference in the spring,” said Maggie Bennett. “When we heard that there was an opportunity to open a location on campus, we were excited to partner with OHIO Lancaster to give the staff and students the food service they needed.”

Bob's Bobcat Bistro offers breakfast, lunch, salads, and cafe beverage options. The breakfast menu includes wraps, sandwiches, waffles, and fruit bowls. Lunch is centered around Bob's famous BBQ pulled pork, beef or black bean burgers, and a variety of side dishes. There are also four salad options which include a Mediterranean, crispy chicken, grilled chicken, or black bean salad choices. In addition, hot, iced, and cold brew coffees are available. The bistro provides casual in-house dining and grab n' go selections during the hours of 7 am to 2 pm, Monday through Thursday. In addition, Bob's Bobcat Bistro will soon be available on DoorDash for carryout orders that can be delivered to your home. If you visit, the best way to avoid lines and have your food/beverage made before you arrive by using Toast TakeOut. This platform allows users to pick menu items and set a pickup time. The public is welcome to visit and dine at this new establishment.
