Additional virtual diversity and inclusion listening session for faculty and staff scheduled for April 7

Consultants from the USC Race and Equity Center, a nationally-recognized organization for its work in diversity, equity and inclusion, have scheduled an additional, fully virtual listening session opportunity for all OHIO faculty and staff, across any campus, on Friday, April 7 at 12 p.m.

The session is available to any OHIO faculty or staff member who was unable to attend one of the previous campus listening sessions that were hosted by USC in February.

Faculty and staff who are interested in participating can register online. Additional details, including the meeting link, will be shared directly with each participant soon thereafter.

Last spring, President Hugh Sherman shared the University’s commitment to undertake an extensive study of OHIO’s current diversity, equity and inclusion efforts as part of its larger commitment to support students and to broaden our collective understanding by uplifting diverse identities, cultures and perspectives.

The USC Race and Equity Center, which was selected by Ohio University in December 2022, has worked with colleges and universities across the country to assess student learning from an equity standpoint and advance racial equity; they also assist to empower faculty and staff members to strategically develop and achieve equity goals through climate studies, high-quality learning experiences, substantive partnerships and workshops built to improve racial literacy on campuses.
