OHIO’s Employment Services transitions to Ohio University Business Service Center
As part of its efforts to provide increased operational excellence and support to the campus community, the Ohio University Business Service Center (OUBSC) has announced a collaboration with the Office of Human Resources to merge the University’s hiring and new employee service functions.
The Employee Service Center (ESC), which is responsible for managing the hiring, benefits paperwork, onboarding, orientations and other activities for all new OHIO employees, has merged with the OUBSC to help provide a consistent, centralized new-hire employment coordination across the University community.
On-campus employment services will also move to Lindley Hall 122A in late March/early April to provide increased accessibility to the campus community. Additionally, the OUBSC is also exploring ways to enhance OHIO’s job posting and employee onboarding experiences by increasing new-hire service functions.
This effort is an important first step in OHIO’s new people strategy, led by Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer Mark Heil and Chief Human Resources Officer Colleen Bendl, which is intended to help strengthen the University’s ability to attract, develop and retain a quality workforce.
“I’m delighted that we are partnering with OHIO’s Office of Human Resources to collaboratively improve multiple processes,” said Heather Krugman, executive director of the OHIO Business Service Center. “These improvements underscore our team’s commitment to further improving campus efficiencies through job sharing, cross-training and succession planning and enables us to provide a seamless, front-facing hiring and onboarding process for new employees.”
Additional details will be shared via the OUBSC website as they become available.
