Benefits Open Enrollment scheduled to begin April 17

The annual Benefits Open Enrollment period at Ohio University is held each year in the Spring.

This years’ Benefits Open Enrollment is currently scheduled for April 17, 2023, through May 10, 2023. Any enrollment changes made during the enrollment period will be effective July 1, 2023.

Open Enrollment is the one time each year Ohio University employees can enroll or make changes in healthcare benefits. Otherwise, changes may only be made if a qualifying family status change has occurred. Open enrollment will be held online through Self Service Benefits, as has been done in previous years.

Plan cost sharing including deductible, copays, coinsurance and out-of-pocket maximums are remaining at their current levels for faculty, administrators, AFSCME 3200 and FOP members. For members of the AFSCME 1699 union, plan cost sharing including deductible and out-of-pocket maximums are increasing while copays and co-insurance are remaining at their current levels. AFSCME 1699 will also be able to take advantage of CVS Caremark’s Specialty Drug Copay Program offered through PrudentRx. There is no cost to participate in this program. Faculty, administrators, AFSCME 3200 and FOP members began utilizing the PrudentRx Specialty Drug Copay Program in 2021.

Due to the impact of rising health care costs, PPO medical plan premiums are scheduled to increase. Premiums for dental and orthodontia plans will also increase slightly. Full details regarding premium changes will be included in open enrollment materials which will be emailed at the start of Open Enrollment.

If you have any questions during open enrollment, please email the Benefits Office at benefits@ohio.edu.
