Emily Chapman named Chief Financial and Administrative Officer in the Scripps College of Communication

The Scripps College of Communication is pleased to announce that Emily Chapman was recently appointed as the college’s chief financial and administrative officer (CFAO). Chapman is an OHIO alumna who has worked at the University for 20 years, and in the Scripps College since 2013.

“Emily has been a valuable member of our office since the day she arrived, and the leadership and competency she has already shown in the CFAO role further prove that she is the right person for the job,” said Scott TItsworth, dean of the Scripps College of Communication. “She is a very effective listener and does an amazing job of trying to help align resources in ways that help meet the needs of faculty and students.”

Chapman’s projects in the college include the development and implementation of the Scripps Business Service Center and the accompanying Scripps Business Services Power App. The projects were designed to streamline administrative and finance functions in the college, allowing users to more easily initiate requests and access important information and forms.

“As the CFAO of the Scripps College of Communication, I have the unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of higher education and ensuring that students and faculty have access to the resources they need to succeed,” Chapman said. “I look forward to working collaboratively with the dean, academic leaders, faculty, and staff to ensure the financial health and success of Scripps and a commitment to balancing financial stewardship with investment in academic programs to ensure our long-term success.”

Chapman most recently served as the director of finance and business services in Scripps, and has held planning, budget and management-related roles over the course of her career at OHIO.
