OHIO Online Incentive Scholarship helps veterans, alumni and others afford college

The new OHIO Online Incentive Scholarship is creating new opportunities for individuals in the region and around the country to enroll in Ohio University’s online programs.

This support, which includes 15 percent incentive scholarships toward eligible OHIO Online graduate programs and 10 percent incentive scholarships towards eligible OHIO Online undergraduate programs, is intended to help make it easier for active and veteran military members, Ohio University alumni and employees of the University’s corporate partners to enroll in OHIO’s highly-ranked academic programs. 

New students who are members of one of these groups and are enrolling in one of the eligible online programs for the 2023-2024 academic year could be eligible for an OHIO Online Incentive Scholarship.

Scholarships for active and veteran military members

“Ohio University is so very grateful to all of our active and veteran military members for all they have done for our country,” said Kathy Wilson, senior director for affinity programs and student engagement for the OHIO Online. “We are honored to make it easier for our active and veteran military members to receive a highly-ranked, affordable education.”

All veterans and active military members are encouraged to see how this new scholarship can benefit them.

“Our military members give so much to our country, and this is one way that Ohio University can give back to them,” explained Terry St. Peter, director for the Brigadier General James M. Abraham & Colonel Arlene F. Greenfield Veterans and Military Student Services Center. “OHIO also offers a wide range of programs and services to active and veteran military members in order to help them get started and then succeed in their academic programs.”

Current active duty, guardsmen, reservists, and veterans of the United States Armed Forces, including the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard are eligible for a 10 percent incentive scholarship for online undergraduate programs, and a 15 percent incentive scholarship for the eligible online graduate programs.

“We are very proud of our Bobcat alumni around the world and of our corporate partners, and we are thrilled to make the OHIO Online Incentive Scholarship available to new students enrolling in the fall semester,” Wilson explained. “This scholarship will open new doors for these individuals, helping them to learn important new skills or take the next steps in their careers.”

All OHIO graduates are eligible for a 15 percent incentive scholarship to any of the included online graduate degree or certificate programs.

Graduates of OHIO's Associate in Applied Science in Nursing are eligible for a 10 percent incentive scholarship toward the RN to BSN program.

Corporate partner employees who enroll in one of OHIO's eligible online programs for the first time in the 2023-2024 academic year are eligible for an OHIO Online Incentive Scholarship. A complete list of OHIO’s official corporate partners is available online.
