Ohio University Airport runway reopens

Ohio University’s Airport runway, located off U.S. Highway 50 in Lee Township, has reopened following a planned repainting project that completed ahead of schedule.

The closure, which was originally anticipated to take place through Aug. 31, was part of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant that was received to paint runway markings.

The Ohio University Airport provides safe, reliable and efficient facilities and services for the University's aviation-related initiatives and the citizens and visitors of the community. The Airport serves Athens, Hocking, Meigs, Washington, Vinton, Gallia, Jackson, Morgan and Perry Counties and is a vital part of the local, state and national economy and a multi-modal transportation network.
