OHIO shares reminder of available campus, community health care resources

As we settle into a new academic year and approach the beginning of cold and flu season, Ohio University would like to remind everyone of the campus and local resources that are available to help keep our community healthy.

Please note: If you are currently experiencing severe or potentially life-threatening conditions, call 911 immediately.

Campus Health Care Resources

OhioHealth Campus Care provides a wide range of health services (opens in a new window) tailored to the specific needs of Ohio University students, including urgent care and primary care support.

As is typical with the start of any new semester, OhioHealth Campus Care is currently experiencing a large influx of students in need of care:

  • Those in need of assistance with minor illnesses or injuries, including those experiencing cold or flu symptoms, are encouraged to skip the waiting room by scheduling a virtual health visit. (opens in a new window)
  • Students may also consider scheduling a telehealth visit through their hometown medical provider.

Community Health Care Resources

Ohio University regularly collaborates with external health providers in order to help ensure students have access to timely medical care, and OHIO’s Chief Medical Officer has recently been in contact with many of our local healthcare providers to help ensure they are prepared to meet increased student demand:

OHIO appreciates everyone’s ongoing commitment to keeping our community healthy. For additional public health information and guidance, please visit: ohio.edu/public-health-information.  (opens in a new window)
