OIT Service Desk announces new phone tree options

As part of a continuous effort to enhance user experience and provide more efficient support, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Service Desk has updated its phone tree to provide easy support access for Canvas users. The phone tree refers to the numbered options shared during the menu described when calling the OIT Service Desk at 740.593.1222.

The Office of Information Technology encourages members of the OHIO community to familiarize themselves with these changes to ensure that they get connected to the right support channel.

Call the OIT Service Desk: For OIT assistance by phone, please dial 740.593.1222.

• If you have Canvas-related questions, press 1 to connect with Canvas support. This is a new addition to the phone tree to maximize Canvas’s 24/7 support.
• If your inquiry relates to Blackboard or anything else, do not press any numbers. Simply remain on the line for assistance from the OIT Service Desk.

In addition to the updated phone support, OIT offers multiple ways for users to seek assistance:

• Email Support: You can send an email to ServiceDesk@ohio.edu.
• Ticket Submission: If you prefer, submit a ticket through this link.
• Rufus Chatbot: Rufus can guide you to relevant articles or solutions on the Service Desk page.
