Nominations open for 41st annual Leadership Awards program

The Leadership Awards program is an opportunity to recognize Ohio University students and student organizations who demonstrate exceptional commitment to the OHIO community. This tradition has been in place for just over four decades and is hosted by the Division of Student Affairs in partnership with Diversity and Inclusion. Nominations are now being accepted for the 41st annual awards.

Students and student organizations across all colleges can be nominated by anyone within or outside of the OHIO community until Dec. 11. The nomination process is simple and the form (opens in a new window) can be completed quickly.

An ideal nominee would go above and beyond their work and academic responsibilities, inspire others, and have an impact on the surrounding community. Nominators should consider students who they interact with regularly and are deserving of being recognized for their leadership.

There are several awards to be bestowed upon deserving students and they fall into the categories of diversity and allyship (opens in a new window), outstanding leadership (opens in a new window), service (opens in a new window), and student organizations (opens in a new window)

Students who want to apply for an award do not need to nominate themselves and can directly submit applications until Feb. 1. Selection committees will review redacted submissions and choose final award recipients according to each award’s established criteria.
