OHIO Football to take on Georgia Southern in Myrtle Beach Bowl on Dec. 16

The Ohio Football Team has accepted an invitation to play in the Myrtle Beach Bowl against the Georgia Southern Eagles on Saturday, Dec. 16, beginning at 11 a.m.

The game will be televised on ESPN and can be heard on the Ohio Sports Network from Learfield (opens in a new window), with "Voice of the Bobcats" Russ Eisenstein and Ohio alum Rob Cornelius on the call.

"Our program is excited about the opportunity to kick off the 2023 Bowl Season and compete against Georgia Southern in the Myrtle Beach Bowl," said head coach Tim Albin in an article posted on the OHIO Athletics website (opens in a new window). "The resilience, toughness, and effort of our guys throughout the year have allowed us the chance to play together one more time. We'll play for a tenth win this season, for our fifth-straight bowl victory, and for the legacy of our seniors who are putting on the Green and White for their final game. Let's raise the bar!"

This marks the Bobcats' first appearance in the Myrtle Beach Bowl (opens in a new window) and their second consecutive season making a bowl appearance, defeating Wyoming 30-27 in overtime at the 2022 Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl.
