Applications now being accepted for Faculty Excellence, Staff Excellence, Campus Impact awards

Ohio University is now accepting applications for the 2023-24 Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) Faculty Excellence, Staff Excellence and Campus Impact awards.

SOCHE is a higher education consortium that supports collaboration by engaging with colleges, universities, and industry to transform the economy through education and employment.

Each year, SOCHE honors outstanding faculty and staff at member institutions with Excellence Awards. Each member institution identifies and honors one award recipient in each category: Faculty Excellence, Staff Excellence, and Campus Impact Award. SOCHE promotes award recipients through social media, web presence, and press releases. SOCHE also provides physical awards to winners.

The SOCHE Faculty Excellence Award recognizes an instructor who has engaged in faculty development through OHIO and/or SOCHE programming and exemplifies SOCHE values and OHIO’s teaching excellence framework.

The SOCHE Staff Excellence Award recognizes a staff member or administrator who has engaged in SOCHE and/or university professional development and exemplifies SOCHE values with special consideration of demonstrated excellence in student success, service and/or assessment. 

The SOCHE Campus Impact Award recognizes a faculty member, staff member or administrator who exemplifies SOCHE values and has made a positive impact at Ohio University. This impact may be related to student success or support of the campus community.

Individuals wishing to apply for these awards are highly encouraged to submit materials. Award applicants will be asked for a CV or resume and a statement indicating how they meet the award criteria. A single letter of recommendation from a colleague or supervisor is also required. 

Applications and letters of recommendation are due by 5 p.m. on March 22. Questions and requests for additional information may be directed to Vice Provost for Faculty Development Katie Hartman or the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment.
