“Growing (Plants) Beyond Gravity”

Dr. Wyatt’s presentation, entitled "Growing (Plants) Beyond Gravity,” will discuss how gravity is fundamental to life on Earth and the effect it has on plant growth, the positioning of leaves, stems, roots, flowers, seeds and fruits.  During the event, both Wyatt and her students will demonstrate how they study the effects of gravity on plants and their recent experiments aboard the International Space Station.

Sarah Wyatt is a professor in the Department of Environmental and Plant Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences.  She specializes in molecular mechanisms of signaling in plant responses with a focus on how plants respond to gravity.
