Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine leader receives national recognition
Jennifer Gwilym, D.O., has been named Outstanding Female Leader of the Year by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP). Gwilym was raised in Glouster, Ohio and graduated from the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003. She was recognized on April 4 at the ACOFP’s annual convention.
Gwilym is the first Ohioan to receive the award. She currently chairs the Department of Primary Care at the Heritage College and serves as a Clinical Assistant Dean for Southeast Ohio. She has held numerous national leadership positions in medicine including serving as president of the Ohio Osteopathic Association and president of the Ohio American College of Osteopathic Physicians. She is currently the southeast regional director of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians. In addition to her roles at the college, Gwilym works at Oakview Dermatology in Athens.
