Greg Moran concludes tenure as Raymond A. Lancaster Executive Leadership Fellow, Dan Squiller appointed as successor

The Robert D. Walter Center for Strategic Leadership at Ohio University announces a leadership transition within its prestigious Raymond Lancaster Executive Leadership Fellow role.

Greg Moran, who has been a cornerstone of the program for more than 10 years, has concluded his tenure in the position and Dan Squiller, a two-time OHIO graduate, a role-model alumnus and accomplished executive, has been named as Moran’s successor.

Moran is currently a board member, investor, and advisor at Z2A, LLC., and a board member at MyAgData, Koios Medical, and Aware, where he was formerly the chief operating officer. Prior to joining Aware, Moran held senior executive leadership roles at Nationwide Insurance, Ford Motor Company, BankOne, and Arthur Andersen.

Moran’s contribution in the OHIO College of Business (COB) was marked by his instrumental role in assisting with the transformation of the Walter Center’s Select Leaders program, now known as the Keith and Deborah Wandell Leadership Development Program (Wandell Fellows), into a hallmark program developing next generation leadership excellence.

In addition, his collaboration with various key leaders in the COB and at OHIO significantly shaped the program. Moran was actively involved in executive mentoring, participating in senior executive networking trips, and providing executive insight on leadership topics and curriculum. His presence and influence has been immeasurably impactful.

In recognition of his unwavering dedication and substantial contributions, Moran was honored with the esteemed Walter Center Legacy Award at the 2023 Lancaster Executive Leadership Event in Fall 2023.

Dr. Jen Traxler, the executive director of the Robert D. Walter Center, acknowledged Moran’s contributions stating, “Greg’s mentorship, brilliance, commitment to excellence, and passion for teaching has touched countless students at OHIO and specifically our Wandell Leadership Fellows. His legacy will live on through those who have learned from him.”

Moran remains committed to continuing to mentor students and engage in various executive leadership events at OHIO.

Dan Squiller named as new Raymond Lancaster Executive Leadership Fellow

Dan Squiller

Squiller, a two-time OHIO graduate, has been named as the new Raymond Lancaster Executive Leadership Fellow, succeeding Moran.

Squiller has already made significant contributions in the Walter Center, notably in integrating the Russ College of Engineering and Technology and the Strategic Leadership Certificate through his collaboration on the Eco-Challenge with Kim Jordan, director of the Strategic Leadership Certificate program. Additionally, his leadership in helping plan the Wandell Fellows senior executive networking trips for three years has been exemplary.

Squiller’s extensive involvement at OHIO includes the Russ College of Engineering and Technology Board of Visitors, the Russ Gift Oversight Committee, the Robe Leadership Institute Advisory Board, the College of Business Executive Advisory Board (Steering Committee member), the Cutler Scholars Advisory Board (chairman), an Ohio University Foundation Trustee, and Executive Committee Member and Founding Investor with the Athens Ohio Investment Alliance. These are in addition to his current full-time positions as the CEO of Amionx Corp., vice chair at Aquam, and director of the Board of Directors at BrightVolt. Squiller’s previous experience includes executive leadership roles at TriLumina Corp., Verengo Solar, GT Advanced Technologies, PowerGenix, Invensys Power Components, Powerware, St. Bernard Software, Indyme Electronics, and Cisco.

As Squiller transitions into this role, his primary focuses will include assisting with the Walter Center's strategic plan, guest lecturing, supporting programs, advancing alumni and executive engagement, and serving as an executive advisor. His approach will bring a new perspective while continuing to build on the strong foundation set by his predecessor.

Traxler noted her gratitude and enthusiasm for Squiller joining the Walter Center leadership team.

“Dan’s appointment as the Raymond Lancaster Executive Leadership Fellow is a testament to his remarkable achievements and dedication,” Traxler said. “His substantial contributions to the Walter Center already underscore his capability and commitment. Dan’s extensive involvement across various boards and his wide-ranging executive leadership experiences will bring unique perspectives to students while continuing to build on the success of our Walter Center programs and helping us further our mission of building Ohio University College of Business students into global business leaders.”

The Robert D. Walter Center for Strategic Leadership is grateful to Moran for his extensive commitment and is pleased to now welcome Squiller to the leadership team.
