Liz Bonin joins OHIO Online as senior director of online student success
OHIO Online is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Liz Bonin as the new senior director of online student success, effective Aug. 1, 2024. Bonin brings a wealth of experience in academic support and organizational development, making her an exceptional leader for this critical role.
Bonin joins OHIO from Northeastern University, where she served as a senior director. There, she led a digital mentoring platform initiative that increased engagement from 42% to 96% over two years. She also designed and implemented leadership development programs and training sessions that enhanced organizational performance and team dynamics. Her expertise in change management and data-driven decision-making has led to positive cultural shifts and improved leadership effectiveness.
Prior to Northeastern, Bonin held the position of senior director of academic support and online accessibility at Southern New Hampshire University. She managed a comprehensive support center and online accessibility services, overseeing a $1.8 million budget and a team of 65. Her work focused on developing strategies that improved student persistence and expanded support services, including certified peer tutoring and coaching programs.
In her new role at OHIO Online, Bonin will lead efforts to enhance online student advising, engagement, retention and online student success. She will oversee the OHIO Online Student Success team, including OHIO Online academic advisors and online graduate student success specialists. In addition, Bonin will provide strategic leadership and collaborate with various university departments to implement industry-leading, scalable best practices.
Bonin holds an Ed.D. in Leadership and Learning, an MAT in English, and a BA in English and Education. Her strong background in education and leadership, combined with her commitment to student success, makes her a valuable addition to OHIO Online.
