David B. Moore named as Ohio University’s next vice president for finance and administration

Ohio University President Lori Stewart Gonzalez has named David B. Moore as the University’s next vice president for finance and administration beginning Jan. 6, 2025. Moore will join OHIO from Rutgers University, where he most recently served as vice president for financial planning and analytics and chief budget officer.

“After an extensive search process, we have found the right person to fill this role,” President Gonzalez said. “David brings a wealth of experience and expertise in financial leadership, particularly in higher education.”

For the past 20 years, Moore has served in several senior leadership positions across the country, including a decade of service to George Mason University and within the University of California system.

“I am excited about the opportunity to serve as Ohio University’s next chief financial officer,” Moore said. “With its new Dynamic Strategies, Ohio University is investing in its future success, which will help the 221-year-old institution emerge as a leader in this challenging higher education landscape. I look forward to being part of President Gonzalez’s leadership team.”

Moore will replace John Day who has served in the interim role for the past year.

“I want to thank John for his steadfast leadership throughout this transition,” President Gonzalez said. “He has dedicated his career to the financial success of his alma mater, and I wish him the best in his retirement.”
