Ohio University students invited to attend children’s literature conference

Dr. Kevin Cordi, international award-winning educator, author and storyteller, and associate professor of education at Ohio University Lancaster, invites students from any Ohio University campus to attend the upcoming children’s literature conference at the University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum.

The Mazza Conference provides a unique opportunity to engage with some of the top authors and illustrators in the picture book industry through dynamic presentations and activities. Keynote speakers will include Grant Snider, Qin Leng, Hanna Cha, Christopher Silas Neal, Oge Mora, Doug Salati and Patricia Polacco.

“I can’t think of a better opportunity for our students," said Cordi. "They learn all that is involved behind the scenes for practicing illustrators. I am so glad students will have this chance to see the magic of illustration come alive."

The mission of University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum is to promote literacy and enrich the lives of all people through the art of picture books.

University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum offers two conferences each year where teachers, librarians and book lovers delight in educational and engaging presentations from some of the top authors and illustrators in the picture book industry.

Mazza’s Weekend Conference is a two-day educational conference offered each year in November. The conference will be on Nov. 8 and 9. Standard conference registration is $150, but Ohio University students can register for only $10 by completing this short survey by Friday, Oct. 25.
