Ohio University Zanesville holds Good Samaritan Blanket Drive
Ohio University Zanesville and the Student Nurse Association (SNAZ) are proud to continue the tradition of the Annual Good Samaritan Blanket Drive. This long-standing community initiative continues to support those in need during the cold winter months.
SNAZ advisor and faculty member Teresa Polen has led the blanket drive across the campus for many years. Polen is passionate about the program and the opportunities it provides to the community.
“The yearly blanket drive provides our community with needed items during the cold weather season. Blankets are donated to Eastside Community Ministries and distributed to local residents in need," Polen said. "As a SNAZ advisor, I am proud to be a part of helping to replenish needed resources for our community. Not only do our students, faculty and staff contribute to our mission, but we usually also receive donations from the community. Please keep our community residents in mind this season and consider donating blankets as you clear out unused items in your home.”
Since its inception by the Good Samaritan Nursing School class of 1960, the drive has collected more than 7,000 blankets and raised significant funds for heating bills, directly benefiting the residents of Zanesville. This year, Ohio University Zanesville looks forward to another successful event, with contributions being accepted at Elson Hall through Dec. 3.
