Share your voice: Fall 2024 course evaluations begin soon

As we approach the end of the fall semester, Ohio University invites all students to participate in upcoming course evaluations through the Blue Course Evaluation System. Student feedback is essential in shaping the future of OHIO’s academic programs and enhancing the learning experience for everyone.

This year’s evaluation period for full-semester courses and those ending at the end of the fall semester is Nov. 30 – Dec. 14, 2024.

Why your feedback matters

For students: 

• Influence your education: Your insights help faculty improve course content, teaching methods, and overall classroom experiences.
• Enhance learning outcomes: Constructive feedback leads to meaningful changes that benefit current and future students.
• Empower your voice: This is your opportunity to share what works well and suggest areas for improvement.

For faculty:

• Improve course design: Use feedback to refine course materials and teaching strategies.
• Foster student engagement: Demonstrate to students that their opinions are valued and can lead to positive change.

How to participate

For students:

1. Check your email: Look for an invitation from the Blue Course Evaluation System in your Ohio University email inbox.
2. Access online: Visit the Blue Course Evaluation System and log in using your Ohio University credentials.
3. Through Canvas or Blackboard: Access evaluations directly via your learning management system.

For faculty:

• Promote evaluations: 
  • Remind your students about the evaluation period and encourage them to participate.
  • Explain how you utilize their feedback to enhance the course and teaching methods.
• Monitor response rates: 
  • Log in to the Blue Course Evaluation System to view your course's response rates.
• Resources: 
  • Access the Getting Started with Course Evaluations: Blue (Instructors) guide for tips on increasing student participation.

Remember, all student responses are anonymous. Instructors will receive aggregated data without any identifying information. All students are encouraged to provide honest and respectful feedback that focuses on course content and instructional methods.
