Proposals now being accepted for 2025 Inclusive Excellence Professional Development Workshop

The Division of Student Affairs at Ohio University is now accepting proposals for the 2025 Inclusive Excellence Professional Development Workshop. This annual event, scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Baker University Center, aims to enhance professional practices through the lens of social justice and inclusion.

The workshop, guided by the Social Justice and Inclusion standards established in 2015 by NASPA and ACPA, seeks to empower staff in fostering inclusive practices. Proposals should align with one or more of the workshop’s three learning objectives:

  • Integrate knowledge of social justice, inclusion, oppression, privilege, and power into professional practice.
  • Connect with and build meaningful relationships that respect diverse identities, perspectives, and developmental differences.
  • Advocate for issues related to social justice, privilege, and power at local, national, and global levels.

Proposals from all University faculty and staff are welcome. While preference is given to proposals addressing the objectives listed above, the committee encourages submissions that broadly enhance staff competency and understanding of inclusive excellence.

All sessions will be conducted in a hybrid format, allowing participation from those working remotely. Presenters are encouraged, though not required, to attend in person.

Concurrent sessions will be 35 minutes in length with three windows for sessions over the course of the event.

Proposals can be submitted through this online form. The priority deadline for submissions is Feb. 4. Questions can be directed to Jim Sand at sand@ohio.edu  or Cody Lennon at lennonc@ohio.edu.

Take this opportunity to share your expertise and help build a more inclusive and socially just campus community.
