Ohio University recognized as a 2024 ALL IN Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting

ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN) recognized Ohio University as a 2024 ALL IN Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting. The University was one of 471 campuses highlighted for its outstanding efforts to increase nonpartisan student voter participation in the 2024 election.

ALL IN recognizes colleges and universities who complete four core actions:

“This recognition reflects Ohio University’s outstanding collaborative efforts to foster a vibrant culture of civic engagement, empowering students to register, vote, and stay involved in democratic action,” Mary Nally, Director for the Center for Community Engagement, said. “The Center for Community Engagement’s staff, student Democracy Fellows, and our campus and community partners are honored by this acknowledgment and remain committed to creating inclusive opportunities for student participation and faculty resources in every election.”

Ohio University offers various resources to help ensure students are able to vote whether that be in person or by mail.

The League of Women Voters of Ohio (LWVO) also came to OHIO’s campus to help register students to vote, ignite enthusiasm about the democratic process and provide answers to questions on issues important to them.

“The research is clear: colleges and universities that make intentional efforts to increase nonpartisan democratic engagement have higher campus voter registration and voter turnout rates. This year we saw more colleges than ever before step up their efforts to ensure that their students were registered and ready to make their voices heard at the ballot box,” said Jennifer Domagal-Goldman, Executive Director of the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. “These Most Engaged Campuses are setting the standard for nonpartisan civic engagement work for colleges and universities across the country.”

The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge empowers colleges and universities to achieve excellence in nonpartisan student democratic engagement. Campuses that join the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge complete a set of action items, with the support of ALL IN staff, to institutionalize nonpartisan civic learning and voter participation on their campus.
