International Week set for April 2-5, performers and vendors invited to register for Street Fair

Ohio University’s International Students Union (ISU) invites all members of the OHIO community to participate in this year’s International Week and the International Street Fair.

This year’s celebration will be held April 2-5 with the theme, “Cultures Without Borders: Dance, Taste, and Connect.” All students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to celebrate the universal languages of food, movement, and human connection.

A week of cross-cultural discovery

Wednesday, April 2 - Flag Raising Ceremony on the College Green
All OHIO students, faculty, staff and area residents are invited to join the International Student Union on the College Green as flags from around the world are raised high, honoring the mosaic of cultures within the OHIO community. Stay afterward to take a picture, share stories, and connect with students from every corner of the globe.

Thursday, April 3 - Global Ice Cream Social at the Baker University Center
Sweeten your Thursday with a taste of the world. Try unique ice cream flavors inspired by international recipes—think coconut pandan from Southeast Asia, dulce de leche from Latin America, or black sesame from East Asia. As you savor each scoop, groove to a global playlist featuring beats from Afrobeat to K-pop. 

Saturday, April 5 - International Street Fair and Cultural Showcase on the College Green
The week culminates in a lively celebration of art, flavor and dance. All members of the OHIO community are invited to wander through a global village of booths and activities:

• Taste the world: Sample dishes like jollof rice, international snacks, and Indian Tea.
• Dance together: Engage with others at the stage and feel free to dance and sing with the performers.
• Connect through creativity: Paint alongside other artists, sip international teas during the Street Fair, or try your hand at calligraphy.

Be part of the celebration: Vendors and performers wanted

Do you want to share your culture through food, art, dance, or hands-on activities? If so, you, can reserve a booth or performance slot at the International Street Fair.

Student groups, local vendors, and community members are invited to showcase traditions, sell international goods, or lead a dance or craft workshop.
