Ohio University to launch Bobcat Creators Ambassador Program – applications due February 23

Do you love being a Bobcat and want to share your experiences with a larger audience? Ohio University is inviting current undergraduate students of all academic years and majors on the Athens campus to apply for its Bobcat Creators program, an exciting opportunity to help showcase the University’s vibrant campus life and culture on social media. Through this program, students will have the chance to create and contribute to content featured on Ohio University’s TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts accounts, highlighting the experiences that make the Bobcat community so special.
Applications for the Spring 2025 semester are now open, with a deadline of February 23. Students who are passionate about Ohio University, active on social media and engaged in student life are encouraged to apply. Experience with content creation is not required, but a deep understanding of OHIO’s culture and insight into social media trends will make applicants stand out.
“Bobcat Creators will play a key role in diversifying our social media content,” said Elise Holbrook, OHIO’s senior manager of university social media. “We’re looking for students who can offer fresh perspectives, create fun and engaging content and help us maintain OHIO’s standing as one of the top higher education institutions on social media.”
In addition to generating ideas for social content, Bobcat Creators may also appear in and create videos and collaborate with OHIO’s social media team to broaden the University’s social media presence. The program provides a unique opportunity to engage with OHIO’s digital community while gaining hands-on experience in content creation.
Perks for Bobcat Creators:
- Monthly rewards for the creator whose content performs the best.
- Exclusive Bobcat Creator merchandise each semester.
- Opportunities to build a resume and social media portfolio.
- Networking opportunities within University Communications and Marketing.
The Spring 2025 semester will serve as a pilot for the program, with plans to launch the first year-long cohort next fall.
As a Bobcat Creator, participants will commit to content creation throughout the semester and may have the opportunity to extend their involvement into the summer. Key responsibilities include attending team meetings, contributing ideas, appearing in content, attending a campus event to showcase it visually and producing a "day-in-the-life" video.
At the end of each academic year, the social media team will evaluate the performance of each Bobcat Creator and determine who is eligible to continue in the program.
