Majestic Galleries to feature exhibitions from OHIO students in April

The Majestic Galleries in Nelsonville will present exhibitions from two Ohio University students in the Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) program in April.

Presented in collaboration with the Chaddock + Morrow College of Fine Arts and The Majestic Galleries (opens in a new window), the exhibitions will feature the work of third-year MFA students Chad Robert Collofello and Douglas MacDowell.

The two exhibitions will run from April 18-20, with an opening reception on April 18, from 6-8 p.m.

“Reawaken,” by Collofello, is profoundly personal and inspired by his journey to rediscover birdsong, a childhood fascination he lost due to hearing impairment and urban noise. Audiences are encouraged to pause and reawaken to the world around them.

“Sparklines,” by McDowell, visualizes data portraits and landscapes, positioned within the lineage of coffee maker computers.

These exhibitions create a dynamic space where perception, memory, and environmental responsibility converge. They are a culmination of the students’ MFA thesis work at OHIO, and Collofello and McDowell invite all students, faculty, staff and community members to see the exhibitions.
